Personal Note:
Evelyn was born in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico; her mother still lives in Vega Alta and works for the Department of Education there.  Her father works as a risk manager for a hospital in Lake Wales, FL.

Evelyn worked as an English teacher while she was attending Law School in Puerto Rico.  When she finished law school, she took the Bar Examination in Puerto Rico, which is administered in Spanish.  Then she moved to Florida and immediately took the Florida Bar Examination in English.  Her language skills are exemplary.

Even though her practice with Social Security claimants keeps her extremely busy, Evelyn has found time to work in the community.  She is a volunteer of the Justice Teaching Program sponsored by the Florida Supreme Court and she is active in the Hispanic community.
