I am Linda T. and I have recently received notification of a Fully Favorable Decision on my behalf regarding my case handled by Mary Ersland with help from Shannon and Stephanie.
I believe you are the head of the firm so I would like to make it clear to you the kind of treatment I received during the last sixteen months.
As the uninformed client, with myriad questions and zero knowledge of how things work with Social Security, I was probably very annoying in the beginning as I tried to understand my role in the process and to understand the process itself . But not once was anyone anything other than patient and polite with me. Mary continually told me that I had a good case and that your firm wouldn’t be representing me if it didn’t think I would win…..she had to do this because of my insecurities. I am very grateful for her calm and patient explanations throughout the entire sixteen month process. She was incredible supportive when I was down.
Some doctors seemed reluctant to give up the information that your firm needed. It was so helpful to have Mary step in and get the documentation that should have been readily offered.
I completely understand now (after the fact) why my friend (the one who recommended Mary in the first place)told me to just give Mary and her staff every piece of paper they asked for and “don’t worry – it’s a process – they’ll call you one day and it will be over.” And, of course, that is exactly (sort of ) what happened. As I understand it, Social Security seems to have gotten the cart before the horse in my case, sending me a large amount of money before sending me any documentation (no decision letter and no award letter – just money – we were confused but not complaining ;o)) – but Stephanie looked into that and got it all figured out. Poor thing, I probably drove her crazy, but we are not used to having nearly $50,000 dumped into our bank account without any expalnation. Stephanie resolved it all in one day and give me instant peace of mind; Mary called to congratulate me; the Decision letter arrived in our mailbox and in our email (from Mary); and now we only await the actual Medicare card and the Award letter.
Our lives have changed because of this new status. Before I struggled to go to doctors who had $50 co-pays – three of these in a week and you can go downhill very fast. Our insurance costs us $1007.00 per month because of MY preexisting conditions. To suddenly have the ability to go to doctors without that great expense is definitely going to change our lives. We were out of options, having sold our car and buying a cheaper one just to get some money on hand. My husband and I wish to thank you and your staff very sincerely for working so hard to get this for me. It has truly changed our lives. We went from “we just have to hold one til you’re 65″ (four more years!!) to – “you can go to the doctos you need right now.” I hope you realize and always remember how you can affect a life just by getting that person affordable health care.
I will recommend your firm and Mary in particular every possible chance I get.
