Rachel grew up in Danville, Illinois and Lake City, Florida. She attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Religion and attended the University of Florida Levin College of Law for her juris doctor.
In law school, Rachel worked at Three Rivers Legal Services and as a Certified Legal Intern at the Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Clinic, where she represented survivors of intimate partner violence. This work led her to develop a passion for social justice work and a desire to use her education to help clients develop tools to rebuild their lives. In her final year of law school, Rachel also served as President of the Law Association for Women and as a research assistant. Her research focused on family law issues affecting LGBTQ parents and will be published in a forthcoming publication.
After law school, Rachel practiced family Law at Darby Peele & Green, PLLC in Lake City, Florida. Her passion for assisting those most in need of legal assistance eventually led her to the field of veterans’ law and the Hill & Ponton team.
