Base Background
Located north of Richmond, NSWCDD has been in operation for over 100 years, providing testing and analysis for a variety of Naval missions. Functions include testing, evaluation, development, engineering, and integration of Naval computer technology, biotechnology, software, and weapons. Their mission supports a variety of military efforts, including homeland defense, counter-terrorism, and chemical-biological warfare protection. Unfortunately this has also led to extensive contamination with the toxins listed below.
